Australia on the driving seat on day 01
Australia trailed South Africa by 144 runs at the end of the first day of the series’ second Test match.Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss, South Africa managed to score 189 runs. Marco Jansen was the top scorer with 59 runs, and Kyle Verreynne scored 52 runs. Both Verreynne and Marco Jansen added 112 runs for the sixth wicket. For Australia, Cameron Green claimed five wickets.
At the end of the day’s play, Australia had scored 45 runs for the loss of one wicket. David Warner was unbeaten after 32 runs of the day’s play.
