Australia beat South Africa in day two
Australia defeated South Africa by six wickets in the first Test of the series on Sunday in Brisbane.Australia captain Pat Cummins won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss, South Africa posted 152 runs in the first innings. Kyle Verreynne was the top scorer with 64 runs. Temba Bavuma scored 38 runs. For Australia, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon claimed three wickets.
In reply, Australia scored 218 runs in their first innings. Travis Head fell eight runs short of a test century. He scored 92 runs on 96 balls. Steven Smith scored 36 runs. While in the bowling department for South Africa, Kagiso Rabada took 4 wickets.
South Africa started their second innings with 66 runs behind and they bowled out for 99 runs in thier 2nd Innings. Khaya Zondo scored an unbeaten 36 runs, and Temba Bavuma scored 29 runs. Skipper Pat Cummins claimed five wickets.
Australia had an easy target of 34 runs to chase. However, Australia hasn’t had a good start, losing four early wickets. Eventually, Australia chased down the target successfully and scored 35 runs for the loss of four wickets. Kagiso Rabada claimed all wickets to fall.
