Hazlewood and Starc destroyed Pakistan’s second inning

Australia registered a 360-run win over Pakistan in the 1st Test on Sunday in Perth. Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first.

After winning the toss, Australia made 487 runs in their first inning. Usman Khawaja and David Warner made a solid start and made a 126-run partnership for the first wicket. David Warner was the top scorer for Australia with 164 runs, and Mitchell Marsh scored 90 runs. For Pakistan, Aamer Jamal claimed six wickets.

In reply to that, Pakistan scored 271 runs. Imam-ul-Haq scored 62 runs, and Abdullah Shafique scored 42 runs. Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman scored 28 runs each. Skipper Shan Masood contributed 30 runs. For Australia, Nathan Lyon claimed three wickets.

Australia started their second innings with a 216-run lead, scored 235 runs, lost five wickets, and declared their second innings. Usman Khawaja was the top scorer with 90 runs, and Steven Smith scored 45 runs. Mitchell Marsh contributed with an unbeaten 63 runs. While in the bowling department, Khurram Shahzad took three wickets.

Pakistan came out to bat to chase down the huge target of 452 runs to victory. However, Pakistan bowled out 89 runs in 30.2 overs. Saud Shakeel was the top scorer with 24 runs. Babar Azam scored 14 runs, and Imam-ul-Haq scored 10 runs. Other than that, no one was able to reach the double-figure mark. For Australia, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc claimed three wickets each.
