During the final match of the Coca-Cola Champions Trophy, Sri Lanka registered a 245-run win over India at Sharjah. Sri Lanka batted first and scored 299 runs, losing 5 wickets in their 50 overs. In reply to that, India bowled out 54 runs in 26.3 overs.
On this day in 2000, Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya scored the highest individual score by a Sri Lankan in ODI matches. He scored 189 runs in 161 balls with 21 fours and 4 sixes against India in Sharjah.
