Galle Titans win in the Super Over

Galle Titans registered a win over Dambulla Aura in the super over of the second Match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Monday at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Dambulla Aura captain Kusal Mendis won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Galle Titans scored 180 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. Bhanuka Rajapaksha was the top scorer with 48 runs, and skipper Dasun Shanaka scored an unbeaten 42 runs. Shevon Daniel contributed with 33 runs.

In reply, Dambulla Aura scored 180 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. After losing two quick wickets at the start of the innings, Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Perera made a 76-run partnership. Dhananjaya de Silva scored 43 runs, while Kusal Perera scored 40 runs. At the back end of the inning, Alex Ross scored a valuable 39 runs. For the Galle Titans, Dasun Shanaka claimed three wickets.

Eventually, the match was tied, and Dambulla Aura batted first in the super over and scored 9 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. In response, the Galle Titans chased down the target with three balls and scored 11 runs.
