Sri Lanka have a chance to surpass Pakistan in the Test rankings

The two-match Test series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will mark their first assignment in the third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship. The first test will begin on July 16 at Galle International Cricket Stadium, while the second Test match will be played at SSC in Colombo on July 24.

Currently, Pakistan is ranked Sixth in the ICC Men’s Test Team rankings, while Sri Lanka is in 7th place in the rankings. However, Sri Lanka have a chance to surpass Pakistan in the Rakings if they manage to finish the series 1-0. Also, if Sri Lanka manages to win both matches, it will be able to get closer to New Zealand, which is ranked 5th in the ICC Test Team Rankings. When Pakistan toured Sri Lanka for the last time in 2022, the two test series were drawn.
