Bangladesh triumphed in the rain-affected game

Bangladesh defeated Ireland by 22 runs using the DLS method in the first T20I of the series on Monday in Chattogram. The coin toss was won by Ireland captain Paul Stirling, who chose to bowl first.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh scored 207 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 19.3 overs before the match was called off due to rain. Rony Talukdar led the way with 67 runs, while Litton Das added 47. Litton Das and Rony Talukdar combined for 91 runs for the first wicket. Shamim Hossain chipped in with 30 runs.

After a long delay, the match resumed, with Ireland’s target set at 104 runs in 8 overs. However, Ireland fell short of the target, scoring 81 runs for the loss of five wickets in eight overs. Harry Tector had 19 runs and Paul Stirling had 17. Gareth Delany scored an unbeaten 21 runs at the end of the innings. Taskin Ahmed took four wickets for Bangladesh.
