I love Sri Lanka – Graeme Swann
Former England cricketer Graeme Swann is touring Sri Lanka with the England Lions team as the team’s spin bowling coach. Swann recalls his Galle memories during the second unofficial test between Sri Lanka A and the England Lions.
In 2012, England visited Sri Lanka for 2 Test matches, and the series was drawn with both teams registering 1 win each. Graeme Swann claimed six wickets in the second innings of the first test at Galle, and he spoke about it. He said he has good memories of the second inning and bad memories of the first, because Mahela Jayawardene got a brilliant hundred in the first inning. “I love this place for bowling,” Swann added.
Also, he talked about the Galle International Stadium and said he always enjoys taking tours in Galle. “Play against possibly the best ever Sri Lankan team. They had Mahela and Sanga in there, and Murali as well. always very fun memories, “especially with Barmy Army singing from the fort and having a great time.” Swann said.
He ended his interview by saying, “Always, the place is better and better; if I could ever move anywhere in the world, I would be here in Galle, like living in that fort; I love Sri Lanka.”
