Wanindu Hasaranaga was crowned as the leading wicket-taker

End of the T20 World Cup 2022: Sri Lanka All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranaga was crowned as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. He claimed 15 wickets in eight matches. Wanindu has taken 8 wickets in the Super 12 stage and 7 wickets in the first round. Sam Curran of England was second with 13 wickets in six matches.
This is the second time that Waninindu Hasaranga has become the leading wicket-taker in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. Previously, he had the most wickets (16) in the 2021 T20 World Cup. It was recorded as the most wickets in a single T20 World Cup. Wanindu has taken 31 wickets in 16 matches during the two T20 World Cups.
