Australia defeat Ireland
Australia registered 42 runs win over Ireland, in 31st T20I of the T20I World Cup at the Brisbane on Monday. Ireland Captain Andrew Balbirnie won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss Australia posed a good target against Ireland. They made 179 runs for lost of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Australia lost David Warner early. But skipper Aaron Finch and Mitchell Marsh made 52 runs partnership and set the platform for the big score. Mitchell Marsh scored 28 runs. 24 runs later Australia lost Glenn Maxwell as their 3rd wicket. After that Marcus Stoinis joined with Fich and made 70 runs partnership for the 4th wicket. Stoinis scored 35 runs. Aaron Finch was the top score with 63 runs. For Ireland Barry McCarthy claimed 3 wickets.
In reply that Ireland bowled out for 137 runs in 18.1 overs. Ireland lost their top order cheaply. Australian bowlers kept things tight and took wickets regularly. Lorcan Tucker was the only successful batsman for Ireland. He made an unbeaten 71 runs. For Australia Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell claimed 2 wickets each.
