Nuwan Thushara destroyed the Bangladesh in the decider
Sri Lanka registered a 28-run win over Bangladesh in the 3rd and final T20I of the series at Sylhet on Saturday. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Sri Lanka managed to score 174 runs for a loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. For Sri Lanka, Kusal Mendis was the star with the bat and scored 86 runs in 55 balls. It was recorded as his highest score in T20I matches. Skipper Wanindu Harasanga scored 15 runs, while Kamindu Mendis contributed 12 runs. At the back end of the inning, Dasun Shanaka smashed 19 runs on nine balls. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain claimed three wickets each.
In reply to that, Bangladesh bowled out 146 runs in 19.4 overs. Bangladesh were off to a sheky start, and Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Thushara was all over Bangladesh. He took a hat-trick in the 4th over of the Bangladesh innings. Bangladesh lost six wickets for 32 runs. After that, Mahedi Hasan and Rishad Hossain made a 44-run partnership for the 7th wicket until Mahedi Hasan was dismissed for 19 runs. Rishad Hossain was the top scorer for Bangladesh and scored 53 runs, and Taskin Ahmed contributed with 31 runs. For Sri Lanka, Nuwan Thushara took 5 wickets, while skipper Wanindu Hasaranga chipped in with 2 wickets.
With that win, Sri Lanka clinched the series 2-1.
