Zimbabwe registered huge win
Zimbabwe registered a huge 304-run win over the United States in the 17th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers on Monday in Harare. United States captain Monank Patel won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Zimbabwe put a huge total on board and scored 408 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 50 overs. Joylord Gumbie and Innocent Kaia made a 56-run partnership for the first wicket until Innocent Kaia was dismissed for 32 runs. After that, Sean Williams, along with J. Gumbie, added 160 runs to the 2nd wicket and set the platform for the big total. J Gumbie scored 78 runs. 88 runs later, Sikandar Raza was dismissed for 48 runs. After that, Ryan Burl and Sean Williams made an 81-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Ryan Burl scored 47 runs. For Zimbabawe, skipper Sean Williams was the top scorer with 174 runs, his highest score in ODI matches.
In reply, the United States bowled out for 104 runs in 25.1 overs. Abhishek Paradkar was the top scorer with 24 runs, and Jasdeep Singh scored 21 runs. Gajanand Singh contributed 13 runs. Other than that, no one was able to pass the double-figure mark. For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava and Sikandar Raza claimed two wickets each.
