We can’t play Cricket like this – Wanindu Hasaranga

B-Love Kandy registered a 61-run win over defending champions Jaffna Kings in the eliminator of the Lanka Premier League 2023. However, before the match started, B-Love Kandy’s captain said that their main fast bowler, Dushmantha Chameera, had been ruled out of the LPL due to an injury. During the match, B-Love Kandy lost their All-rounder Isuru Udana while he was chased down the ball, and he went off the field with an injury. Also, Nuwan Pradeep looks uncomfortable when he bowls his third over.

At the end of the match, in the post-match presentation, Roshan Abeysinghe asked about the condition of Isuru Udana and Nuwan Pradeep. In reply to that, skipper Wanindu Hasaranga said that he heard that Isuru Udana was also ruled out of the tournament, but he still didn’t know about the condition of Nuwan Pradeep.

After that, the skipper extended his explanation and talked about the tight schedule of the Sri Lanka Premier League 2023.

“We played lots of back-to-back games. We played two back-to-back games here (Colombo), then we played two back-to-back games in Kandy, then we played three back-to-back games here (Colombo). We can’t play cricket like that.” Wanindu Hasaranga said

Also, he said that he hope that the next edition of the Lanka Premier League will provide a friendly schedule for the players.

However, B-Love Kandy have to play against Galle Titans in the second qualifier match the day after tomorrow, and the winners will have to play the final the very next day against Dambulla Aura.
