Wanindu Hasaranga will lead the Sri Lanka team for the first time in T20 World Cup

Sri Lanka Cricket announced the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. Sri Lankan Super Star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga will lead the Sri Lanka team for the first time in T20 World Cup matches, while Charith Asalanka will work as the vice captain. Sri Lanka’s most experienced player, Angelo Mathews, was included in the squad for the sixth time in the T20 World Cup. However, dashing opening batter Kusal Perera was not included in the T20 World Cup.
