UAE wins Netherlands through to the Super 12
UAE registered 7 runs win over Namibia, in 10th T20I of the T20I World Cup at the Geelong on Thursday. UAE Captain Chundangapoyil Rizwan won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
After winning the toss UAE made 148 runs for lost of 3 wickets. They start their innings very slowly. But skipper Chundangapoyil Rizwan and Basil Hameed made 45 runs unbroken partnership in 18 ball for the 4th wicket. Basil Hameed scored an unbeaten 25 runs and Chundangapoyil Rizwan made an unbeaten 43 runs. Opening batsman Muhammad Waseem was the top scorer with 50 runs.
In reply that Namibia manage to score 141 runs for lost of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Namibia hasnt had a good start. They lost wickets regular intervals. But David Wiese and Ruben Trumpelmann made 70 runs partnership for the 8th wicket and put pressure back on the UAE bowlers. However Wiese got out in the last over of the match. He made 55 runs in 36 balls.
Eventually UAE registered their first win in T20 World Cup. With that lost against UAE Namibia eliminated from the tournament and Netherlands through to the Super 12 round.
