Sri Lanka need help of Afghanistan or rain
Australia registered 42 runs win over Ireland at Brisbane on Monday. With that win Australia moved up to 2nd place in the point table. This result hurt Sri Lanka a lot. Because Ireland’s defeat against Australia will complicates the qualification for Sri Lanka.
If Sri Lanka able to win their remaining two matches against England and Afghanistan, They will get 6 points. On the other hand, if Australia win their next match against Afghanistan, they will get 7 points and qualify for the Semi Finals. Sri Lanka still got a limited chance to qualify for the Semi Finals. Therefore Sri Lanka need help of Afghanistan or rain. If Afghanistan Australia match ended up with no results Australia will get 6 points.
However, Sri Lanka have to maintain healthy Net run rate and they have to win their next two matches with big margin.
