Sri Lanka are in a commanding position

At the end of the second day of the Test match between Sri Lanka and Ireland, Ireland trailed by 474 runs on Monday at Galle.

Sri Lanka start their innings for the second day with 386 runs for the loss of four wickets. Four runs later, Prabath Jayasuriya was dismissed for 16 runs. After that, Dhananjaya de Silva joined Dinesh Chandimal. However, Dhanajaya de Silva got out for 12 runs. After the dismissal of de Silva, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Dinesh Chandimal added an unbroken 183 runs for the 7th wicket. Dinesh Chandimal scored an unbeaten 102 runs, while Sadeera Samarawickrama contributed with 104 runs not out. Sri Lanka eventually declared their first innings at 591 runs for the loss of six wickets.

In reply, Ireland hasn’t had a good start. They lost two quick wickets. However, after a horror show start, James McCollum and Harry Tector added 70 runs to their partnership for the 3rd wicket until Prabath Jayasuriya struck twice in one over. He took the well-set Harry Tector for 34 runs and Curtis Campher for a duck in the same over. After that, Ireland lost wickets at regular intervals. James McCollum scored 35 runs.

At the end of the day, Ireland were 117 for the loss of 7 wickets. Prabath Jayasuriya claimed five wickets. Lorcan Tucker stayed on not out for 21 runs, and Andy McBrine at the other end had five not out.
