South Africa lead the T20I series against India

South Africa registered a five-wicket win over India in the rain-effected 2nd T20I at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. South African captain Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, India scored 180 runs for a loss of seven wickets in 19.3 overs until the rain interrupted the game. Rinku Singh was the top scorer with an unbeaten 68 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav scored 56 runs. For South Africa, Gerald Coetzee claimed three wickets.

After a rain break, the target was revised, and South Africa needed to chase 152 runs in 15 overs. South Africa were off to a flying start and made a 42-run partnership for the first wicket. After that, Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks made a 54-run partnership for the second wicket and took the game away from India. Reeza Hendricks scored 49 runs, and Aiden Markram scored 30 runs. Eventually, South Africa chased down the target successfully and scored 154 runs for a loss of five wickets in 13.5 overs.
