Shimron Hetmyer guide the Rajasthan to victory

Rajasthan Royals registered a three-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the 27th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh on Saturday. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Punjab Kings managed to score 147 runs for a loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Ashutosh Sharma was the top scorer with 31 runs, and Jitesh Sharma scored 29 runs. Liam Livingstone contributed with 21 runs. For the Rajasthan Royals, Keshav Maharaj and Avesh Khan chipped in with two wickets each.

In reply to that, the Rajasthan Royals chased down the target successfully and scored 152 runs for a loss of seven wickets in 19.5 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 39 runs, and Tanush Kotian scored 24 runs. At the back end of the inning, Shimron Hetmyer played a match-winning knock and scored an unbeaten 27 runs in 10 balls. While in the bowling department, Kagiso Rabada and Sam Curran claimed two wickets each.
