No Wickets in a full Day’s Play for Sri Lanka


Asanka Gurusinha and Arjuna Ranathunga – 240

Asanka Gurusinha and Arjuna Ranathunga was the first Sri Lankan pair to bat entire day in a Test match. They Batted throwout the day 05 in 3rd Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in 1986 at Colombo. Both Asanka Gurusinha and Arjuna Ranathunga added an unbeaten 240 runs for the 4th wicket and Sri Lanka manage to score 323 runs in their second innings.

Sanath Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama added 283 runs in 3rd day of the 1st Test match between Sri Lanka and India in 1997 at Colombo(RPS). 
This was the 12th occasion in Test cricket that  Two players batted throughout the full day. 


Sanath Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama – 265

Sanath Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama also batted throughout the full day in 4th day of 1st Test match between Sri Lanka and India in 1997 at Colombo (RPS). Both Sanath Jayasuriya and Roshan Mahanama added 265 runs to the Sri Lankan total in day 04. (Record Partnership for the 2nd Wicket – 576 runs)

Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews – 239

After a 10 years time Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews able to batted throughout the full day. They batted in 4th day of the 1st Test match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand in 2018 and added 239 runs for the 4th wicket.
