Mahela scored second-highest score in New Zealand T20 history

39 years old Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene made his 3rd Twenty20 Hundred at the Pukekura Park, New Plymouth on Wednesday in McDonalds Super Smash. Otago Volts set a 250 target against Central Stags. In Reply that Central Stags manage to score 248 runs lost of 4 Wickets in their 20 overs.  Mahela Jayawardene was the star for the Central Stags team and he scored 116 runs in 56 balls with 12 fours and 7 sixes. Jayawardene’s 116 was the second-highest in New Zealand T20 history, behind Martin Guptill’s unbeaten 120 for Auckland against Canterbury in 2011/12 in Rangiora. Also this is his highest score in Twenty20 matches.

Previously He had scored 2 hundreds in Twenty20 matches. Mahela Jayawardene made his first T20 hundred in Indian Premier League 2010. He scored 110 not out against Kolkata Knight Riders. Then he made his first International Twenty20 hundred year in ICC World Twenty20 which was held in West Indies 2010. He scored 100 against Zimbabwe in Group stage match. Also Mahel Jayawardene has scored 124 runs in Master Champions League.

Mahela Jayawardene has played 213 Twenty20 matches so far in his T20 career and He has retired from Twenty20 International in World Twenty20 2014.
