Jaffna Kings beat the unbeaten Galle Titans

Jaffna Kings registered a comfortable 8-wicket win over Galle Titans in the 7th Match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Friday at Pallekele. Galle Titans captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bat first.

After winning the toss, the Galle Titans managed to score 117 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Dasun Shanaka was the top scorer with 30 runs, and Shevon Daniel scored 25 runs. Lasith Croospulle contributed 19 runs. For Jaffna Kings, Dunith Wellalage claimed four wickets for 10 runs in his four-over spell and registered his best bowling figures in T20 matches.

In reply to that, Jaffna Kings chased down the target successfully and scored 120 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 12.4 overs. After the dismissal of Charith Asalanka for 5 runs, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Towhid Hridoy made an 83-run partnership for the second wicket. Towhid Hridoy scored an unbeaten 44 runs, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 54 runs in 34 balls.
