India win in a nail-biting thriller

India registered 4 wickets win over Pakistan, in 16th T20I of the T20I World Cup at the Melbourne on Sunday. India Captain Rohit Sharma won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss Pakistan made 159 runs for lost of 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Pakistan lost both their openers very early in the innings. However Iftikhar Ahmed and Shan Masood rebuild the innings and made 76 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket. Iftikhar Ahmed scored 51 runs in 34 balls. After that Pakistan lost their wickets regular intervals. But at the back end of the innings Shaheen Afridi played a little cameo of an innings and made 16 runs in just 8 balls. Shan Masood was the top scorer with an unbeaten 52 runs. For India Arshdeep Singh claimed 3 wickets.

In reply that India manage to chased down the target successfully in the last ball of the innings. India lost 4 wickets for just 31 runs. But Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya made match winning partnership. Both added 113 runs for the 5th wicket. Hardik Pandya unfortunately got out for 40 runs in the last over. Pakistan had 30 runs to defend in last 2 overs. But Virat Kohli had another ideas. He smashed 2 consecutive sixes in the last 2 balls of the 19th over and reduced the gab between runs and balls. However India needed 16 runs to win in last over.  Mohammad Nawaz bowled crucial final over. Even though he took 2 wickets he couldn’t able to defend the 16 runs. Virat Kohli was the star with the bat and he scored an unbeaten 82 runs in 53 balls.
