India clinched the series
The final and the 3rd T20I between India and New Zealand ended up in a tie due to teams’ score levels on the DLS method on Tuesday at Napier. New Zealand captain Tim Southee won the toss and elected to bat first.
After winning the toss, New Zealand were bowled out for 160 runs in 19.4 overs. Devon Conway was the top scorer with 59 runs, and Glenn Phillips scored 54 runs. Both Conway and Phillips added 86 runs to their partnership for the 3rd wicket. However, after that, New Zealand lost their way and lost 7 wickets in 30 runs. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj claimed four wickets each.
In reply, India couldn’t bat through their 20 overs, and the match was stopped due to rain in the 9th over of the innings. At that point, India managed to score 75 runs for the loss of four wickets. Both team scores are equal according to the DLS method, and the match ended in a tie. Skipper Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 30 runs in 18 balls. For New Zealand, Tim Southee claimed two wickets.
However, India clinched the series 1-0. Suryakumar Yadav was named the player of the series.
