Historical win for Netherlands
The Netherlands registered a historic win over the West Indies in the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers on Monday in Harare. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, the West Indies put a huge total on the board and scored 374 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their 50 overs. Brandon King and Johnson Charles got off to a solid start and made 101 runs for the first wicket. Johnson Charles scored 54 runs, and Brandon King scored 76 runs. Nicholas Pooran was the top scorer with an unbeaten 104 runs, and Shai Hope scored 47 runs. Both Shai Hope and Pooran added 108 runs for the fourth wicket. At the back end of the inning, Keemo Paul scored an unbeaten 46 runs.
The Netherlands made a strong reply and scored 374 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. Max ODowd and Vikramjit Singh got off to a flying start and made 76 runs. Max ODowd scored 36 runs, while Vikramjit Singh contributed 37 runs. Teja Nidamanuru was the top scorer with 111 runs, and Scott Edwards scored 67 runs. At the back end of the inning, Logan van Beek scored a quick 28 runs to help the Netherlands level the score.
However, in the Super Over, Netherland managed to score 30 runs, and the West Indies scored just 8 runs. With that, the Netherlands won in the Super Over.
