Dimuth, Kusal, Sadeera and Hasaranga achieved their milestones
Sri Lanka defeated Ireland by a 133-run margin in the 15th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on Sunday in Bulawayo. This victory is Sri Lanka’s fifth consecutive ODI victory.
On the other side, Sri Lankan players were able to write certain records in front of their names, some records were narrowly missed.

Dimuth Karunaratne
Sri Lankan opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne scored 103 runs in 103 balls. It was recorded as his maiden ODI hundred and his highest score in ODI matches. With that hundred, Dimuth Karunaratne became the oldest Sri Lankan player to score a maiden ODI hundred. Also, it was recorded as his fifth consecutive fifty in ODIs, and he became the fifth Sri Lankan player to do so.
Kusal Mendis
Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batsman Kusal Mendis was dismissed for a golden duck, which was recorded as his 14th duck in the ODI matches. Also, Kusal Mendis was involved in two dismissals behind the wicket. With those two dismissals, Kusal Mendis has the most dismissals as a keeper in 2023. He has 16 dismissals behind him.
Sadeera Samarawickrama
Sri Lankan middle order batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama made his 3rd and 2nd consecutive ODI half centuries and scored 82 runs in 86 balls. It was recorded as his highest score in ODI matches.
Wanindu Hasaranga
Sri Lankan superstar all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga claimed five wickets for 79 runs in his 10 overs. It was his third consecutive five-wicket haul in ODI matches. With that, Hasaranga equals the 33-year-old record for Waqar Younis’s most consecutive five wickets in ODI matches.
Also, Wanidu Hasaranga managed to pick up 21 wickets in his last five consecutive matches and surpass Sri Lankan spinner Ajantha Mendis, who holds the record with 20 wickets.
