Dasun Shanaka will be a key player for Sri Lanka in the upcoming series against India
The Sri Lanka Cricket Board announced the squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against India. All-rounder Dasun Shanaka leads both the T20I and ODI sides for Sri Lanka. Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga were named as the vice captains of the ODI and T20I teams, respectively. Among those players included in the squad, Dasun Shanaka has to play a key role during the series as the skipper and the most experienced player in the squad.
Skipper Dasun Shanaka is having a good previous outing in India in T20I matches. He played his first T20I in India in 2016 at Pune. During his first match in India, he claimed 3 wickets and helped Sri Lanka restrict India to 101 runs in 18.5 overs. Since then, he has played 13 matches in India and scored 254 runs at a 31.75 average. In addition, he has six wickets against India in india.During Sri Lanka’s last T20I series in India, Dasun Shanaka scored 124 runs in 3 matches, including an unbeaten 74 runs in 38 balls and an unbeaten 47 runs in 19 balls.
