Danishka Gunathilaka has been found not guilty

Danushka Gunathilaka, a Sri Lankan international cricket player, was found not guilty of sexual assault by a Sydney judge, according to Australian media. The judge stated the evidence as showing that there was “no opportunity” for him to have removed a condom during sex and that he was honest during his police interview.

On November 2, 2022, Danishka was charged with “stealthing” during sex with a 29-year-old woman in her house in the eastern suburbs without permission. He entered a not guilty plea to engaging in sexual activity without consent, and Judge Sarah Huggett in Downing Center District Court scheduled a four-day trial.
