Comfortable win for Jaffna Kings against Colombo Strikers

Jaffna Kings registered a six-wicket win over Colombo Strikers in the 13th match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Tuesday at Pallekele. Colombo striker Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat first.

After losing the toss, the Colombo Strikers scored 146 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka was the top scorer with 36 runs, and Lahiru Udara scored 29 runs. Mohammad Nawaz contributed 27 runs. For the Jaffna Kings, Dunith Wellalage and Dilshan Madushanka claimed two wickets each.

In reply to that, the Jaffna Kings chased down the target successfully and scored 150 runs for 4 wickets in 14.3 overs. Nishan Madushka was the top scorer with 46 runs, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 39 runs. Thisara Perera smashed a quik 17 runs in 7 balls, while Towhid Hridoy contributed with an unbeaten 14 runs.
