Bangladesh beats England
Bangladesh registered a six-wicket win over England in the 1st T20I of the series on Thursday at Chattogram. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss, England got off to a solid start, and Philip Salt and Jos Buttler made 80 runs for the first wicket. Salt scored 38 runs in 35 balls. Jos Buttler was the top scorer with 67 runs in 42 balls, while Ben Duckett contributed with 20 runs. However, Bangladesh’s bowlers came back strongly in the later stages of the innings. Eventually England made 156 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud claimed two wickets.
In reply, Bangladesh got off to a flying start and made 33 runs for the first wicket. Najmul Hossain Shanto was the top scorer with 51 runs in 30 balls, and Towhid Hridoy scored 24 balls. Skipper Shakib Al Hasan scored an unbeaten 34 runs and led the team to a victory. Bangladesh made 158 runs for the loss of four wickets in 18 overs.
