Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka
angladesh Women registered a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the first T20I of the series on Tuesday in Colombo. Sri Lanka Women captain Chamari Athapaththu won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
After winning the toss, Sri Lanka’s women scored 145 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Chamari Athapaththu scored 38 runs, while Nilakshi de Silva contributed an unbeaten 29 runs. Harshitha Samarawickrama was the top scorer with 45 runs. For Bangladesh, Fahima Khatun claimed two wickets.
In reply, Bangladesh Women chased down the target successfully and scored 146 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 19.5 overs. Nigar Sultana played a crucial role and scored an unbeaten 75 runs. Ritu Moni scored 33 runs, while Sobhana Mostary contributed 17 runs.
