On This Day in 2008, Sri Lankan pacer Dhammika Prasad made his debut in Test matches. He made his debut against India at the P. Saravanamuttu International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. He claimed five wickets in his first Test match. Dhammika Prasad has played 25 Test matches and claimed 75 wickets.
On This Day in 2011, Sri Lankan mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis achieved his first five-wicket haul in T20I matches, and he became the first bowler to take six wickets in a T20I innings. He claimed six wickets for 16 runs in his four-over spell with one maiden over against Australia at Pallekelle. It helped Sri Lanka register an 8-run win against Australia.
