Angelo Mathews in World Cup Matches

Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 in Zimbabwe. However, Sri Lanka’s most experienced all-rounder, Angelo Mathews, was not included in the squad. He is the only player to represent the 2011 World Cup team in the current Sri Lanka team.

36-year-old Angelo Mathews made his World Cup debut in 2011, in which Sri Lanka became the runner-up. After that, he was included in the 2015 and 2019 World Cup squads, respectively. Angelo Mathews led the side in the 2015 World Cup. He has played 22 World Cup matches and scored 533 runs with an average of 30.07. Angelo Mathews has claimed 13 wickets in World Cup matches.
