Afghanistan won the rain-effected match

Afghanistan registered a 17-run win according to the DLS method over Bangladesh in the rain-effected 1st ODI of the series on Wednesday at Chattogram. Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the coin toss and elected to bowl first. The match was interrupted several times, and it was redused to 43 overs per side.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh managed to score 169 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 43 overs. Towhid Hridoy was the top scorer with 51 runs, and Litton Das scored 26 runs. Other than that, no one is able to reach the 20-run mark. For Afghanistan, Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed three wickets.

The target was revised, and Afghanistan required 164 runs to chase. In reply, Afghanistan scored 83 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 21.4 overs until the match was called off due to rain. Ibrahim Zadran scored an unbeaten 41 runs, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 22 runs.
