December 26: Chandimal and Hasaranga made their Test debut

On this day in 2009, Sri Lankan former captain Dinesh Chandimal made his debut in Test matches. He played his maiden Test match against South Africa at Durban and scored two half centuries on his debut. Chandimal scored 58 and 54 runs and became the first Sri Lankan batsman to score half centuries in both innings on his Test debut.

On this day in 2014, Sri Lankan bowler Tharindu Kaushal made his debut in Test matches. He played his maiden Test match against New Zealand in Christchurch.

On this day in 2020, Sri Lankan superstar all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga made his debut in Test matches. Hasaranga played his maiden Test match against South Africa at Centurion. He has claimed four wickets and scored 59 runs on his Test debut.
