October 30: Wanidu Hasaranga’s hat-trick
On this day in 2021, Sri Lankan superstar all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga became the first Sri Lankan to take a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup. He completed his hat-trick against South Africa at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. Wanidu Hasaranga took the wickets of Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma, and Dwaine Pretorius to complete his hat-trick.
