Comfortable win for Bangladesh
Bangladesh registered a six-wicket win over Afghanistan in the third match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 on Saturday at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Afghanistan bowled out 156 runs in 37.2 overs. Afghanistan was off to a solid start, and they made 47 runs for the first wicket and 36 runs for the second wicket. However, after that, Afghanistan lost momentum, and they lost eight wickets within 73 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the top scorer with 47 runs. Azmatullah Omarzai and Ibrahim Zadran scored 22 runs each. For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and skipper Shakib Al Hasan claimed three wickets each.
In reply to that, Bangladesh chased down the target successfully and scored 158 runs for a loss of 4 wickets in 34.4 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz contributed with 57 runs, while Najmul Hossain Shanto scored an unbeaten 59 runs.
