West Indies beat India
The West Indies registered a four-run win over India in the first T20I of the series on Thursday at Trinidad. West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the toss and opted to bat first.
After winning the toss, the West Indies scored 149 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Rovman Powell was the top scorer with 48 runs, and Nicholas Pooran scored 41 runs. Brandon King contributed 28 runs.
In reply, India managed to score 145 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Debutante Tilak Varma was the top scorer with 39 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav scored 21 runs. Skipper Hardik Pandya scored 19 runs. For the West Indies, Jason Holder claimed 2 wickets for 19 runs in his 4 overs.
