On This Day in 2012, Sri Lankan Legend Lasith Malinga reached 200 wickets in ODI matches. Lasith Malinga was the fastest Sri Lankan to reach that milestone. He achieved that feat in his 127th match. Malinga took the wicket of MS Dhoni, his 200th wicket in ODI matches.
On This Day in 2016, Sri Lankan pacer Vishwa Fernando made his debut in Test matches. He played his first Test match against Australia at Galle. Vishwa Fernando took the wicket of Australian opener Joe Burns as his first wicket in the second ball he bowled.
