July 30: Historical Test win for Sri Lanka against Australia

On This Day in 2016, Sri Lanka registered their second win against Australia. Sri Lanka won by 106 runs at Pallekele. This is the first Test match win for Sri Lanka against Australia in 17 years.

Sri Lanka batted first and was bowled out for 117 runs. In reply, Australia bundled out for 203 runs. In the second innings, Sri Lanka scored 353 runs with the help of Kusal Mendis’s 176 runs. Australia came out to bat to chase the 278-run target. However, Sri Lanka managed to restrict Australia to 161 runs.
