Sri Lanka maintained their undefeated record in the Qualifiers

Sri Lanka registered an 8-wicket win over the West Indies in the 9th match of the Super Six stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023. Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the coin toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the West Indies were bowled out for 243 runs in 48.1 overs. Johnson Charles scored 39 runs, and Romario Shepherd scored 26 runs. Keacy Carty battled till the end and scored 87 runs, which helped the West Indies put a decent total on the board. For Sri Lanka, Maheesh Theekshana claimed four wickets.

In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the target successfully and scored 244 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 44.2 overs. Pathum Nissanka was the top scorer with 104 runs, and Dimuth Karunarathne scored 83 runs. Both Nissanka and Karunarathne added 190 runs for the first wicket. Kusal Mendis contributed with an unbeaten 34 runs.

With that win, Sri Lanka maintained their undefeated record in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023. They will meet the Netherlands in the finals on Sunday.
