Chamari Athapaththu clinches first place in the rankings
Sri Lankan women’s team captain Chamari Athapaththu has moved to first in the latest ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings following the conclusion of the bilateral three-match series between Sri Lanka women and New Zealand Women. This is the first time that Sri Lankan women have ranked number one in the women’s ODI rankings.
Chamari Athapaththu scored 248 runs in 3 matches, including 2 hundreds. It helped Sri Lanka women register their first ever series win in any format of the game against New Zealand women.
At the end of the ODI series between Sri Lanka women and New Zealand women, Sri Lankan left-arm bowler Udeshika Prabodhani has progressed 6 places to 32nd in the ICC women’s ODI bowling rankings, while Oshadi Ranasinghe has progressed 3 places to 38th in the latest rankings.
