Sri Lanka registered a comprehensive 10-wicket win over Oman in the 11th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on Friday at Bulawayo. Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Oman was bowled out for 98 runs in 30.2 overs. Oman lost their top order cheaply. Jatinder Singh and Ayaan Khan made a 52-run partnership for the fourth wicket until Jatinder Singh was dismissed for 21 runs. Ayaan Khan was the top scorer with 41 runs, while Fayyaz Butt contributed with an unbeaten 13 runs. Other than that, no one was able to cross the double-figure mark. For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga claimed 5 wickets, and Lahiru Kumara took 3 wickets.
In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the target easily and scored 100 runs without losing a wicket in 15 overs. Dimuth Karunaratne made his fourth consecutive fifty and scored an unbeaten 61 runs, while Pathum Nissanka scored an unbeaten 37 runs.
