Dimuth Karunarathne was brought back into the limited overs side
Sri Lankan newspaper The Sunday Times reported that Sri Lanka Cricket has picked a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.
According to the report, Sri Lankan Test captain Dimuth Karunarathne was brought back into the limited overs side after a while ahead of the all-important ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Dimuth Karunarathne played his last one-day international match against the West Indies in 2021.
Sri Lanka’s most experienced player, Angelo Mathews, was also included in the squad, while wicketkeeper Batsman was picked in the squad after 4 years. Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera made a comeback after the injury, and Wanidu Hasaranga was also named in the squad who got injured during the Indian Premier League 2023.
