I don’t mind that I didn’t get picked in the IPL – Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lankan limited-overs skipper Dasun Shanaka went unsold in the IPL auction, which was held in December last year. However, at the end of the last T20I series between India and Sri Lanka in January, Dasun Shanaka played some wonderful cricket. Everyone was shocked and surprised that he wasn’t picked by anyone in the IPL auction.

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir said that he won’t have money to buy Dasun Shanaka because he would be that expensive, the way he has batted.
However, after awhile, Dasun Shanka spoke about Gambhir’s statement and not being picked at the auction with the Hindustan Times during the International League T20.

When it comes to India, the pitches are batting friendly. So, I enjoy those conditions very much. It’s (aggressive batting) in my game, my instinctive reactions come to play there. I don’t mind that I didn’t get picked in the IPL. I’m sure there will be something for me in India in the future. So I’m looking forward for that opportunity to play in the IPL
