New Zealand level the series
New Zealand registered a 79-run win over Pakistan in the 2nd ODI on Wednesday at Karachchi. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
After winning the toss, New Zealand bowled out for 261 runs in 49.5 overs. The Kiwis hasn’t had a good start, and Finn Allen was dismissed for 1 run in the first over of the match. After the early breakthrough, Devon Conway and Kane Williamson put on a 181-run partnership for the second wicket. Kane Williamson scored 85 runs, and Devon Conway was the top scorer with 101 runs. After the brilliant partnership, New Zealand lost the momentum and lost wickets at regular intervals. Mitchell Santner fought till the end and scored valuable 37 runs. For Pakistan, Mohammad Nawaz claimed four wickets.
In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 182 runs in 43 overs. Pakistan lost both of their openers when the score was 9. After that, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam made 55 runs. Babar Azam was the top scorer with 79 runs. Mohammad Rizwan scored 28 runs, and Agha Salman scored 25 runs. For New Zealand, Tim Southee and Ish Sodhi claimed two wickets each.
With that win, New Zealand ties the series.
