Ibrahim Zadran’s record-breaking knock
Afghanistan opening batsman Ibrahim Zadran scored a magnificent hundred against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in the 3rd and final ODI of the series on Wednesday. He scored 162 runs in 138 balls with 15 fours and four sixes, becoming the first Afghan batsman to do so in an ODI.
It was recorded as the highest ODI score by an Afghanistan batsman. Formerly, Afghanistan wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad set the record in 2015, scoring an unbeaten 131 runs against Zimbabwe.
Also, this is the highest individual score at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Sri Lanka’s former captain TM Dilshan set the previous record against Zimbabwe in 2011. He managed to score 144 runs.
