Bangladesh leveled the series with a comfortable win over Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh registered a comfortable 8-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20I of the series at Sylhet. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, Sri Lanka managed to score 165 runs for a loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. Kamindu Mendis was the top scorer with 37, and Kusal Mendis scored 36 runs. Both Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis made a 66-run partnership for the 2nd wicket after the dismissal of Avishka Fernando for duck. Charith Asalanka smashed 28 runs in 14 balls. At the back end of the inning, Angelo Mathews and Dasun Shanka made an unbroken 53 runs for the 6th wicket. Angelo Mathews scored an unbeaten 32 runs.

In reply to that, Bangladesh chased down the target successfully and scored 170 runs for a loss of 2 wickets in 18.1 overs. Bangladesh were off to a solid start and made 68 runs for the first wicket. Soumya Sarkar made 26 runs, and Litton Das scored 36 runs. After the dismissal of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy, Hridoy made the match, winning an unbroken 87 runs for the 3rd wicket. Towhid Hridoy scored an unbeaten 32 runs, and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was the top scorer with an unbeaten 53 runs.
