Suryakumar, Bumrah Shine as MI Storm into IPL 2025 Playoffs

Mumbai Indians secured a commanding 59-run victory over the Delhi Capitals in the 63rd match of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday. Delhi Capitals captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, Mumbai Indians scored 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav led the charge with an unbeaten 73, anchoring the innings, while Tilak Varma contributed 27 runs.

In reply, Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 121 runs in 18.2 overs. Sameer Rizvi was the top scorer for DC with 39 runs but lacked substantial support from the rest of the batting lineup. The Delhi Capitals struggled against MI’s disciplined bowling attack and lost wickets at regular intervals. Mitchell Santner delivered a stellar performance, claiming 3 wickets for just 11 runs, while Jasprit Bumrah showcased his prowess with figures of 3/12, including a decisive yorker to dismiss Mustafizur Rahman, sealing the victory.

With that win, Mumbai Indians clinched the final playoff spot in the IPL 2025 season.
