Sri Lanka warmed up against the USA

Sri Lanka registered a 198-run win over the USA in the warm-up match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier on Thursday at Bulawayo. United States of America captain Monank Patel won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss, Sri Lanka put a huge total on the board and scored 392 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Dimuth Karunaratne was the top scorer with 111 runs, and Kusal Mendis scored 105 runs. Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka scored an unbeaten 61 runs, while Charith Asalanka contributed with an unbeaten 62 runs.

In reply, the United States of America bowled out for 194 runs in 33.2 overs. Skipper Monank Patel was the top scorer with 68 runs, while Shayan Jahangir scored an unbeaten 63 runs. Aaron Jones scored 18 runs. Other than that, no one was able to pass the double-figure mark. For Sri Lanka, Matheesha Pathirana claimed four wickets, while Kasun Rajitha and Wanindu Hasaranga picked up two wickets each.

Sri Lanka won both their warm-up matches against the Netherlands and the USA. The ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 kicked off on June 18, and Sri Lanka will play their first match on June 19 against the United Arab Emirates at Bulawayo.
